The Recovery Walk Scotland council are happy to announce its intention to hold Recovery Walk Scotland 2017 in the the fair city of Dundee! Official notification of the event which is planned for Saturday 30th September 2017 has now been formally submitted.

The local recovery community in Dundee are delighted with the decision and have already begun to explore how they as hosts for the event will welcome you to Dundee at the end of September.

The Recovery Walk Scotland Council took the decision last October to be an ongoing group that meets all year round. The council is made up of national stakeholders in recovery, previous host communities and the current host community representatives. They are meeting monthly in Dundee to organise the event and raise the 30k needs to put on the three recovery walk events. This year the day will begin with Roses in the River memorial, continue with a Recovery Walk through the city centre and end at the Recovery Village and Festival.

"Last year more than 2000 people from every area of Scotland took part in the Falkirk walk” said Marion, the Recovery Walk Scotland Council’s chair, “ this year we are hoping to be even bigger in Dundee”.

Local Host Kevin said “ we are delighted its going to be in Dundee  this year, it will make a big difference to recovery from addiction here”
