SRC’s Chair retires

Tuesday 13, June 2017

John Goldie, Chair of the Scottish Recovery Consortium’s Board of Directors, has retired. He is taking early retirement from his work and commitments in order to give more time to adventures that have long simmered in his heart and minds eye. He will be embarking on a round the world cycle trip as soon as he leaves his post with Glasgow Addiction Services. John celebrated the efforts of the organisation saying,

“The amazing amount of work achieved by this small team never ceases to astound me and I will continue to follow its progress with deep interest”

The CEO Kuladharini and Board members expressed their deep gratitude for John’s service to the Scottish Recovery Consortium over the last 5 years. He has been a steadying and thoughtful force in the organisation during challenging times for the emerging organisation. Kuladharini expressed her personal thanks for the kindness and support in his careful supervision of her leadership of the staff team.

A new executive for the Board was appointed at the SRC’s board meeting on June 6th comprising a new Chair: Mark Bitel of IFDAS ( Independence from Drugs and Alcohol in Scotland) Vice Chair, Marion Martin, Businesswoman, and Vice Chair, Nick Smith, Lead officer for Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership.
