Do You Know Your Rights When It Comes to Recovery?

Understanding your rights changes what you can ask for, and what you can challenge when something isn’t right. SRC’s Introduction to Rights in Recovery is a two-hour online session built to make that understanding accessible, whatever your starting point.

What the session covers. An engaging, practical introduction to human rights and recovery, where empowerment, respect and human dignity are the focus throughout. It covers the key basics: what rights people affected by substance use actually have, why they matter, and how understanding them supports people to access better care and challenge poor practice when they encounter it.

Who it’s for. Anyone. Whether you have lived experience, work in a recovery community, or want a clearer grounding in rights-based practice, the session is built as an accessible starting point, not a specialist deep dive.

This isn’t a one-off. Introduction to Rights in Recovery runs year-round, not just this month, and SRC will be adding more online two-hour and full-day sessions across the rest of the year for anyone who wants to go further.
