Funding for Organisations Supporting Families Affected by Addiction

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation from family life, and neither does harm. The Forte Charitable Foundation’s Major Grants programme is aimed squarely at organisations working with families where that reality is most acute.

What it prioritises. Frontline organisations with a clear focus on family support, which can include early intervention, families coping with addiction, and prisoners’ families.

Where it’s targeted. Your organisation’s postcode, or your project’s area, needs to rank within the most deprived 15% for urban areas, or the most deprived 50% for rural areas, on the relevant index of multiple deprivation.

What it funds. Single-year grants of £10,000 to £50,000, or multi-year grants up to £100,000 over three years (capped at £50,000 a year). Past awards have averaged around £67,256.

Who can apply. Charitable organisations, including social enterprises, not-for-profit companies and voluntary organisations, across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, generally with an annual turnover up to £500,000. Small to medium-sized local organisations with a track record in communities of extreme urban or rural deprivation are the target.
