Funding Under £25,000 for Scottish Community Groups

Not every recovery community’s next step needs a five-figure, multi-year grant. Sometimes it’s a smaller, more specific ask, and the Weir Charitable Trust is built for exactly that scale.

Who can apply. The Trust says it may be able to help if you meet all of the following:

  • You’re a charity or not-for-profit community group
  • You’re based and operate in Scotland, providing services that improve quality of life for people in Scotland
  • Your application fits one of five Qualifying Categories: Sport, Health, Culture, Animal Welfare, or Recreational Facilities
  • You’re seeking funding of less than £25,000

Where recovery work fits. Health is one of the five qualifying categories, so recovery community activity that supports people’s health and wellbeing is worth checking against the Trust’s fuller guidance before ruling it in or out.

Timeline. The next closing date is 30 October 2026 at 5pm, with outcomes advised by the end of December. The Trust notes these dates are targets, aimed for but subject to change.
