Scottish Recovery Consortium in partnership with Recovery Communities from all over Scotland have been working on a refresh of our previous ORT Recovery and Me support group, and are pleased to announce the launch of Medication Recovery and Me.
The rebranding of ORT Recovery and Me to Medication Recovery and Me was based on discussions we have been having recently with people in recovery and people already facilitating and delivering ORT Recovery and Me support groups. After these discussions with people in recovery we decided that we wanted to make ORT Recovery and Me more inclusive and open for people who were needing support with not only opiates but alcohol and any other substitute medication or medically assisted treatment, and with that we are pleased to launch our new support programme Medication Recovery and Me.
There is also a monthly facilitator drop in which is an opportunity to develop resources by sharing experiences with each other, support guidance, share successes and challenges.
Medication Recovery and Me is a support group that is open to anyone currently receiving substitute medication to support their recovery from problematic alcohol or drug use, who want to learn more about addiction and the support available to them.
The updated Medication Recovery and Me programme is available to all recovery communities and recovery services across Scotland and is supported by the Scottish Recovery Consortium. If anyone would like any further information on how to access or deliver Medication Recovery and Me support groups in your recovery community or service, please get in contact with natalie@scottishrecoveryconsortium.org for more information.
