This one’s for the more established recovery communities: the ones with a track record, and a clear idea of who they’d reach with a bit more funding behind them.
Energise is built for growth, not just survival. Bank of Scotland Foundation describes it as an innovative, trusting grant programme for grassroots charities that are close to the real issues on the ground and ready to support more vulnerable people. The funding is unrestricted, so it can go towards core costs, delivery costs, project costs or general running costs, whatever your organisation decides fits best.
What you can apply for. Two tiers, based on income:
- Charities with income under £50,000: up to £20,000 over two years (£10,000 a year)
- Charities with income between £50,000 and £150,000: up to £40,000 over two years (£20,000 a year)
What you’ll need. Charity income of £150,000 or less, and a minimum of one year’s signed, independently examined accounts lodged with OSCR.
Dates. Applications open at noon on Monday 28 September and close at noon on Wednesday 7 October 2026. This is a new application system, so Bank of Scotland Foundation is advising applicants to leave extra time before the deadline.
