Peer support is an invaluable tool in supporting people in recovery, utilising lived experience to guide and support others. However, effectively harnessing that experience requires skill and structure.
“My Recovery and Me” (MRAM) is one of the core ways SRC works directly with individuals and volunteers within recovery communities. It is designed to create safe boundaries for people to use there super power, their own experiences.
How it Works: MRAM is not a generic download. It is a structured programme to ensure high standards of safety and care.
The Training: We deliver specific training to your staff or volunteers.
The Toolkit: Upon completion of the training, facilitators are granted access to the full MRAM toolkit.
The Delivery: Your trained facilitators can then use these resources to develop their own peer support groups.
Why take this approach? We believe in capacity building. By training your team first, we ensure they are equipped to create a safe environment where lived experience is seen, heard, and valued.
Safety & Stability: The training focuses on creating safe spaces and celebrating the acceptance of being stable in recovery.
Immediate Support: Once trained, your community can offer support at the exact time individuals need it—removing the need for waiting lists or call-backs.
Ongoing Support: We don’t train you and walk away. We offer an online drop-in for facilitators, providing ongoing mentoring and a space to share best practices with others delivering MRAM across Scotland.
