Recovery Walk Scotland is Scottish Recovery Consortium’s flagship event. For over a decade, Recovery Walk Scotland has taken place every September with the aim to make recovery from substance use visible and accessible to more people, and to reduce the stigma that unfortunately still accompanies addiction. This is a national event and last year we were thrilled to have over 2,000 of you walk with us in remembrance and celebration in Glasgow.
This year, we are pleased to announce that Recovery Walk Scotland 2025 will take place this September in Stirling.The day will include:
11 am: Roses in the Forth Ceremony (Stirling Old Bridge)*
12pm: Walk begins at Stirling Old Bridge and ends at King’s Park Stirling.*
1pm: Recovery Festival Opens in King’s Park with speeches and live music
3.50pm: Closing Speech & Serenity Prayer
*Please be aware that the event will begin at Stirling Old Bridge for the Roses Ceremony and start of the procession/walk, which will then take us to King's Park, Stirling for the Recovery Festival activities.Please make sure you are following all Recovery Walk Scotland social accounts, so you’re the first to know all details once they are available!

2We are extremely excited to welcome you to Recovery Walk Scotland 2025 in Stirling on Saturday 27th September. Below we have provided some important information to help you better plan for the day.
The walk is approximately 1.2 miles through Stirling City Centre (which should take around an hour). We ask that anyone taking part in the walk/procession is fit and able to complete the walk and that you wear appropriate footwear for walking this distance. For anyone who is unable to take part in the walk, you are welcome to gather in the Recovery Festival area in King’s Park to welcome the procession back.
Please be prepared for all weather conditions.
To all groups who have registered, please make sure to pass this information on to everyone coming on the day.
We are also looking for additional volunteer stewards for the day, if your group are able to offer any bodies from your group to help out, could you please contact Tom via email on tom@scottishrecoveryconsortium.org
How are you getting to the Recovery Walk?
Below we have provided some key travel information for getting to and from the event:
Coach Travel
If you are travelling by coach, your coach can drop you off for the Roses Ceremony and Walk at the coach drop-off point for the Stirling County Rugby Club on Causewayhead Road (FK9 5HJ). There is a cafe and toilets within the rugby club should you wish to purchase a coffee or use the facilities before heading to the Roses Ceremony.
The collection point for pick at the end of the day is on Victoria Place (FK8 2QT). If you are unable or don’t want to join the Walk, please feel free to ask your coach driver to drop you off here at King’s Park.
Car Travel
As this year’s Recovery Walk Scotland should you be travelling by car, please be aware that the Roses Ceremony and Walk start at a diferent venue to the celebration in King’s Park. There is ample on street parking around both areas, however please make sure to allow sufficient time to find a space before making your way to the rose’s ceremony and follow instructions on local parking.
Public Transport
Train
Stirling Rail Station is situated in between both Stirling Old Bridge and King’s Park. It is approximately a 17 min walk away from Stirling Old Bridge – were the Roses Ceremony and Walk will begin and approximately a 19 min walk away from King’s Park – were the festival will be held. Train times are available through the Scotrail website.
Bus
We would advise you check the Traveline Scotland website for your best options on traveling via bus.
There will be video recording and photography taken on the day which may be used for Scottish Recovery Consortium social media, websites and documents to remember the day. If you do not wish for your image to be used, please contact staff at the SRC stall within the Recovery Village on the day.
