Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the latest Women in Recovery Research and Practice Network meeting.
It was wonderful to welcome both familiar faces and new members, with colleagues joining us from across Scotland, the UK and Europe. The growing reach of the network reflects the increasing commitment to improving outcomes for women through research, practice, policy and lived and living experience.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made together so far. We shared how learning from the network has been disseminated across a range of sectors, highlighted the influence the group has had on practice and policy discussions, and celebrated some of the positive outcomes already achieved. It was a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we work collaboratively and keep women’s voices at the centre.
As we move into the next phase of our work, discussions turned to the future and the need to strengthen the role of lived and living experience. There was significant interest in exploring the development of a network specifically for women with lived and living experience, creating a dedicated space for women to connect, influence, lead and shape change.
Future conversations will focus on:
🔹 Identifying the gaps and unmet needs that continue to impact women across Scotland.
🔹 Sharing and learning from examples of effective, women-centred practice that are making a positive difference.
🔹 Ensuring women’s voices, experiences and needs remain at the heart of policy, practice, research and support.
🔹 Creating meaningful opportunities for women with lived and living experience to connect, lead, influence and shape change.
🔹 Building a national space to share learning, showcase innovation, amplify women’s voices and strengthen the impact of the network across Scotland and beyond.
Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute their knowledge, expertise and experience. Together, we are building a stronger evidence base, amplifying women’s voices, and advancing a shared vision for women-centred recovery.
