Lived experience at SRC

When SRC refers to lived experience, this includes people at every stage of recovery. This encompasses those who are not currently engaged in treatment, those in treatment, those further along in their recovery journey, and those who are abstinent. Engaging with people where they are at, and respecting each individual’s journey, recognises that drug and alcohol harm is not a linear process. Acknowledging the full continuum of people’s experiences ensures that all voices are valued and that services, systems, and the work of SRC are shaped by the diverse realities, needs, and strengths of people at different points in their lives.
